BaFin update regarding whistleblowers protection
BaFin, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority of Germany, has issued an announcement to inform in relation to whistleblowers protection.
According the announcement, whistleblowers can report information on BaFin electronic message system with absolute anonymity and Bafin can get in touch with the informant.
BaFin reports that the conditions continued to improve, where potential whistleblowers are willing to share their knowledge, and the BaFin is able to check whether instructions have regulatory significance.
Many of the existing communication channels for whistleblowers– via email, by mail, by phone or in person – are still available.
