The rupee-dollar pair hit 61.0875, its highest since September 18. The pair was trading at 61.06/07 versus Wednesday’s 60.96/97 close.

Nifty was down 0.6 per cent. Month-end demand from importers further helped the pair.

Foreign fund flows will remain the key for direction. Asian currencies were trading mixed versus the dollar. Traders said that the pair will hold between 60.90 and 61.20 on Thursday.
