CentrumDirect, an arm of diversified Centrum Group, is set to launch next week an online forex platform Buyforex. in, which will allow users to see live quotes to buy and sell major currencies in various forms such as prepaid forex cards, currency, travellers’ cheques, demand drafts and wire transfer on the portal.

“Customer behaviour is fast changing and we see tremendous potential in the digital space. There are some real pain points in the process of buying and selling forex such as price discovery and unreliable service,” said TC Guruprasad, managing director of CentrumDirect.

A buyer or seller can book a currency on the portal by paying just 2% of the amount and the rest can be paid during the time of delivery. Guruprasad said the company plans to go one step further and allow customers to book forex through mobile site and pick the order from any airport across India. The customers can also pick up their order from more than 100 Centrum outlets spread across 46 cities in India.

Headquartered in Mumbai, CentrumDirect also has visa and travel business called Centrum Visas of the World and Club7 Holidays respectively. Centrum’s online visa store has been operational since December 2014.

Experts said that online forex platforms bring convenience to the fingertips of the consumers at a time when a growing number of Indian travellers are planning their trips online.
