Pound advances against majors
The British pound strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Monday.
The pound rose to a 6-day high of 1.4236 against the Swiss franc, from Friday’s closing value of 1.4162.
Against the euro and the yen, the pound advanced to 5-day highs of 0.7719 and 165.53 from last week’s closing quotes of 0.7754 and 164.12, respectively.
Against the US dollar, the pound edged up to 1.4528 from Friday’s closing value of 1.4498.
If the pound extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.48 against the franc, 0.75 against the euro, 174.00 against the yen and 1.50 against the greenback.
