Italian and Indian law firms team up to boost cross-border business

Italian Law Firm CBA Studio Legale e Tributario has entered into a joint venture with Singhania & Co after signing an agreement at the Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai.

The companies have made the move primarily to promote cross-border M&A operations, joint ventures and partnerships among enterprises of the two countries. With more than 120 professionals operating in offices in Milan, Rome, Padua, Venice and Munich, CBA is considered one of the main tax and law firms in Italy.

Opportunity for Italian companies

Angelo Bonissoni, CBA Managing Partner, said: ‘In recent years the Indian Government, lead by Modi, has launched actions to facilitate foreign direct investments (FDI) in 15 sectors, including defence, construction, retail trade, banking and manufacturing sectors, where Italy excels on an international level; we will work together with the Singhania to help Italian companies to find the best conditions to seize the opportunities of such a growing market.’ He added: ‘We aim at helping entrepreneurs and operators of different cultures and economies to identify projects and initiatives in the various countries, as well as facilitating financial support to companies and entrepreneurs.’

Enhance current services

Similarly, Pradeep Jain, managing partner of the Mumbai & Indore offices of Singhania & Co, explained: ‘The intention of the collaboration is to enhance our current services and be more effective in catering to our clients by providing a global reach. We aim at providing seamless cross-border legal services either through our own network of offices or through our close relationships like-minded firms in the world’s leading legal markets. This is an exciting time for the firm as we are growing both locally and over seas.’
