Polished diamond index continues to drop in the past week

According to the most recent polished diamond index, published by polishedprices, the overall polishedprices index continued to drift lower this past week.

On Monday, October 8, the polishedprices index stood at 121.2 points. One week later, on Monday, October, 15, the polishedprices index stood at 120 – down 1% week-over-week. The overall index is 4.1% higher compared to its level this time last year, and up 3.5% since the beginning of the year.

The weakest categories this past week were the Fine larger sizes. 1-carat stones fell 4.3% and 0.5 carat stones fell 3% week-over-week. The strongest category came from the Mixed 1.0 carat range, which rose 1.3% over the past week.
