IG Group launches Sunday Trading offering

IG Group, a global leader in online trading, is the first platform to launch a Sunday trading offering, allowing clients to trade a selection of markets out of normal trading hours.

IG’s new offering, which reflects the business’s aim of offering market-leading functionality to investors, allows clients to respond immediately to weekend events, when an increasing number of political, financial and economic news now takes place. Clients can trade certain major indices, political markets, additional binary options and Bitcoin, a process which previously would have had to wait until Sunday night.

The FTSE 100, Germany 30 and Wall Street markets are now available for Sunday trading from 8:00am until 10.40pm (UK Time). Any position still open at 10.40pm will automatically roll into IG’s existing weekday contracts for no charge.

The innovation means clients will now be able to respond immediately to polling data for the UK 2015 general election – which is often released on Sundays – by trading IG’s political markets. IG currently has two UK 2015 general election markets; the party with the overall majority and total seats gained per party.
