CySec announcement for Cyprus Investment Firms
CySec has issued a press release to inform CIFs that:
CIFs may use market data to provide investment services, and/or provide market data to their clients, only if they are authorized to do so by the person who has the intellectual property rights of the market data, and sign a direct agreement with this person.
CIFs are requested to:
Review their processes established in relation to market data usage and ensure that all necessary actions will be taken (e.g. obtaining an authorisation from, and/or signing an agreement with, the person who has the intellectual property rights of market data) in order to become compliant with respect to market data usage when providing investment services.
