BP picks new auditor in Deloitte
BP will ask its shareholders to approve the appointment of Deloitte as the company’s auditor for the financial year 2018 at its AGM.
EY will retain the role of external auditor for BP and will carry out the audits for the financial years 2016 and 2017.
Brendan Nelson, chairman of BP’s Audit Committee, said: “I would like to thank EY for their high professional standards and all they have done to provide assurance to the board and shareholders during their time as BP’s auditors.
“Subject to shareholder approval at the 2018 AGM, we look forward to working with Deloitte.”
