Montreal Exchange announced appointment of Vice President and Chief Regulatory Officer
The Montréal Exchange (MX), Canada’s oldest exchange has issued a press release to announce the appointment of Julie Rochette as Vice President and Chief Regulatory Officer of the Regulatory Division of the Montréal Exchange, effective January 16th. Julie assumes this role following the recent appointment of Brian Gelfand to the role of Chief Commercial Officer for CDS and CDCC.
Julie will lead the Regulatory Division of the Exchange, which ensures compliance with the Rules of the Exchange through market surveillance, investigations, and trade desk examinations. In addition, the Division develops regulatory proposals and manages the approval and registration of approved participants and authorized persons.
Julie joined the Montréal Exchange in 2015 as Director, Enforcement and Legal Counsel in the Regulatory Division. Julie has over 20 years of experience in legal and compliance roles and was instrumental in the overall implementation of the Regulatory Division strategic plan.
