Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has appointed a new private equity partner to its growing corporate finance team.

Andrew Howson joins BDO’s corporate finance stream following 11 years at EY. Based in the firm’s London office, Andrew specialises in providing buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence support to private equity investors, financial institutions, multi-nationals and fast-growth businesses.

His experience in advising private equity and corporate clients spans multiple sectors across the UK and Europe, with a particular focus on business services.

Paul Eagland, managing partner at BDO, commented: “Andrew’s experience in advising fast-growth, private equity-backed businesses reinforces our commitment to giving the best advice to our ambitious clients.

“Attracting and retaining the best talent is essential for us to help our clients continue to be successful in changing times. Andrew is a great addition to our already impressive private equity team within corporate finance.”

BDO’s corporate finance team completed 243 deals last year, 78 of which had private equity involvement. BDO has grown its PE deal volumes by nearly 60% since 2012.

Last month BDO announced it had achieved its ambition to appoint 25 new partners this financial year. The total now sits at 26 new partners since July 2016.
