FCA UK warns: Beware from fake FCA emails

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of UK has issued a notice to warn that the Authority is aware that fraudsters are sending emails that appear to be from an FCA email address or refer to the FCA in the email subject.

FCA urges anyone who receive suspicious emails to delete them without opening them and in case not sure about an email that appears to be from the FCA to contact the Authority.

Fake emails reported to FCA

FCA has been contacted about emails being sent from the following addresses:

  • fake emails sent from fca.updates@fca.org.uk with subject ‘FCA business update’ or ‘Blacklisted FX firms’ (9 May 2017)
  • fake emails sent from fcafees@fca.org.uk with subject ‘Overdue balance’ (9 May 2017)
  • fake emails sent from fca.updates@fca.org.uk (21 March 2017)
  • fake emails sent from webmaster@fca.org.uk (5 January 2017)
  • fake emails sent from press.office@fca.org.uk with subject ‘FCA Regulation 2017’ (16 December 2016)
