Membership of the global professional body for accountants ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has grown to over 200,000.

To celebrate this important milestone, ACCA is highlighting the achievements of its global membership by creating a transportable wall of member names – featuring every one of ACCA’s 200,000 membership as of October 2017.

ACCA has also created a digital replica of the wall for members to find their names and leave a message to describe what their membership has meant for them.

Helen Brand OBE, chief executive of ACCA, says: ‘Reaching 200,000 members is a landmark occasion, an opportunity for us to champion the profession.

‘Over the last 113 years, our members have helped lead and advise organisations of all sizes across geographies and economic sectors. We want all of our members to feel immense pride in what they have achieved in qualifying with ACCA and to celebrate with them their career success.’

The digital wall launches on the 4 December 2017 at ACCA’s online event Accounting for the Future, and the physical wall will be unveiled in Ethiopia at ACCA’s first-ever member engagement event for sub-Saharan Africa on the 6 December 2017.

Helen Brand adds: ‘ACCA is committed to shaping the future of the accountancy profession, enabling individuals and organisations to unlock their potential. Our story is one of opportunity and inclusion and to showcase our heritage we have The ACCA Story, a short film that features our founder Arthur Priddle, reflecting on our founding values, which remain as relevant today as they were in 1904.

‘We’re proud of our members’ achievements and recognise the ACCA story has only been possible because of the imagination, courage and determination of our members past and present. We invite all of them to celebrate this important milestone for the profession.’
