Three UK law firms announce global expansion plans

UK law firms are continuing to open up offices globally and link with local firms with the latest three law firms announcing plans to expand abroad. Pinsent Masons has joined forces with Saudi Arabian law firm Alsabhan & Alajaji (SJ), Kennedys is planning to launch in Argentina whilst Watson Farley & Williams has secured a new Singapore tie-up.

Pinsent Masons link-up in Saudi Arabia

Pinsent Masons is targeting Saudi Arabia as the country puts in place a major economic tranformation programme. The two firms have worked together on a range of projects. SJ was founded in 2003 and headed up by litigation chief Naif Alsabhan and head of transactional services Ibrahim Alajaji.

Kennedys heads for Buenos Aires

Meanwhile Kennedys joins forces with its associated firm Alberto Bunge & Asociados (ABA) and will operate from the firm’s offices in Buenos Aires. It is the sixth office in Latin America which the firm has opened, all reporting into the firm’s hub in Miami. Senior partner Nick Thomas said that Argentina was one of the largest insurance markets in Latin America.

Singapore tie

Watson Farley & Williams has linked up with with Singapore law firm Wong Tan & Molly Lim following the break-up of a previous Singapore relationship in 2016 with local firm Asia Practice.
