To support the development of the accountancy profession and the growing needs of its expanding customer base in the Middle East, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has transformed its regional team to meet the demand.

Lindsay Degouve de Nuncques has been appointed as head of ACCA Middle East. She has spent more than nine years with ACCA, gaining experience in learning and strategy leadership roles at ACCA’s headquarters in London, and also served as the head of ACCA UAE, based in Dubai, for a year. The new head of ACCA Middle East will be managing teams in Dubai and Muscat to deliver best-in-class support to employers, learning providers, members and students.

Anis Motorwala, who recently served as the head of ACCA Northern Gulf, has been appointed to the role of Business Development Manager – Middle East.

Changes in the structure of ACCA Middle East coincide with the appointment of Fazeela Gopalani as the new head of education for the region.

In this role Fazeela will be supporting ACCA’s relationships with learning providers and particularly schools and universities across the Middle East, while also working with key stakeholders to support them as ACCA continues with its flexible exam delivery programme.

Fazeela is an ACCA member and has previously worked with ACCA platinum tuition providers in the United Arab Emirates.

Stuart Dunlop, ACCA’s regional director – MENASA, said: ‘This was an important step for us to take here in the Middle East, as the demands from our students, members and potential students grow and every need can be different. The team’s structure needed to reflect this and ensure ACCA is still the first choice, high quality, globally relevant qualification it has always been.’
