BDO rivals KPMG for AIM audits 

BDO and KPMG

Mid tier firm BDO has moved up to share the top spot with KPMG in the rankings of audit firms advising AIM clients, according to the latest quarterly listing from Adviser Rankings Ltd.

BDO has picked up four clients to give the firm a total of 148 out of all AIM companies, while KPMG has dropped one. Grant Thornton holds third place with 126 clients, followed by PwC with 102 and Deloitte with 59. EY is placed seventh, with 50.

PwC has retained its first position in the FTSE AIM 100, where it has 30 clients, while Deloitte moves up to third position with 12 clients, swopping places with Grant Thornton (11 clients). KPMG holds second ranking with 20 clients.

PwC also leads the FTSE AIM UK 50 listing with 15 clients, after a gain of one. Deloitte has picked up a client to retain second position with nine clients, while EY and KPMG are joint third with seven clients.

BDO has the most clients in three sectors: basic materials, consumer goods, and oil and gas, and is ranked second to KPMG (36) for financial sector clients (22). KPMG also retained first position in consumer services, gaining one client to 18. PwC is top of the ranking in the healthcare sector, while Grant Thornton and KPMG share the top slot amongst industrials clients.
