Cyprus’s Tax Department says that from August 1, 2017, it will accept requests for settling unpaid tax under its recently-announced tax amnesty through the island’s online “Ariadni” gateway portal.

The amnesty is open to taxpayers who have filed all tax returns due by December 31, 2015, and paid (or arranged to pay) all taxes due as of January 1, 2016. Taxpayers covered by the amnesty benefit from a 95 percent reduction in financial charges linked to unpaid taxes.

The amnesty has so far been limited to taxpayer’s settling their debts in person with a lump sum payment at a district tax office, together with a completed Form 2005E/2017.

From August 1, 2017, taxpayers will be able to settle their tax debts in a lump sum or by installment, and in either case can use the online “Ariadni” gateway portal.
