Leading UK corporate financier joins Deloitte 

Paul Staples, formerly head of UK corporate finance and a senior managing director in the European Investment banking division of BNP Paribas has joined the Corporate Finance Advisory business of Deloitte as a partner. He completed his accountancy training at Touche Ross in 1990, and has since acted as trusted adviser to many leading UK businesses.

Paul Lupton, head of advisory at Deloitte said: “We feel that the time is right to strengthen the depth of our team to capitalise on the increased transactional activity we are experiencing. Paul’s appointment significantly bolsters our M&A capability with FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies and his outstanding track record in the European TMT sector will enhance our expertise in this active sector. This part of the business has performed very strongly over the past two years, growing revenue at 15% CAGR with further strong growth anticipated.”

He added: “This appointment is an important step forward as we seek to develop our business mould, ensuring we are the most relevant source of trusted strategic advice to our clients. Paul will bring a fresh and valuable perspective to our leadership team.
