ACCA announced an appointment
ACCA has today announced the appointment of Alan Hatfield to the role of Executive Director – Strategy and Development. A graduate of Glasgow University and a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Alan has led ACCA’s learning directorate for the past four years.
Originally joining ACCA as an examinations assistant in Glasgow in 1993, Alan has progressed through a range of roles over the last 22 years, most recently taking overall responsibility for the strategic development of ACCA’s qualifications and continuing professional development requirements.
Speaking on the appointment, Helen Brand OBE, ACCA chief executive said:
‘Alan’s career journey is a great example of the opportunity ACCA can offer to those with outstanding talent, ability and dedication.
‘In his role as director of learning at ACCA, Alan has led a number of strategic achievements, including most recently the development of a combined Masters in Professional Accountancy with the University of London.
‘Alan’s breadth of knowledge and his leadership capabilities will ensure ACCA continues to develop finance professionals who are supported, trained, examined and regulated to the same high standards globally.’
