Luxembourg Agrees to Share Details of Corporate Tax Deals

luxembourg leaks

Luxembourg agreed Thursday to share with the European Commission information on tax deals secured by multinational companies with operations in the small nation.

Xavier Bettel, Luxembourg’s prime minister, said the decision came after the European Union’s executive also asked other EU countries to share their tax rulings.

“We always said that fishing was not the right way to work,” Mr. Bettel told reporters on the sidelines of an EU summit in Brussels.

Luxembourg’s tax rulings have come under scrutiny after leaked documents revealed the low-tax deals it has granted large multinational companies, including PepsiCo Inc., FedEx Corp. and Amazon.com Inc.
